My last sighting of an excellent fortnight holiday around the River Mersey,
based in a guesthouse at New Brighton.
Factoid! This location was only yards from the home of Karl Green, bass player
with Herman's Hermits. I had visited his family who my dad had known years
earlier when he worked (briefly) at local Manchester steelworks (well, something
like that - memory is vague after 40+ years!)
Factoid! Peter Noone, lead singer with Herman's Hermits, shares my birthday
(although not the same year)!
Factoid! Their no. 1 hit "I'm Into Something Good" was released August
1964 (hitting top spot the next month).
