a decent view of the sheerlegs used to install engines in vessels built by

CRINAN, Tyne-Tees/Dent's Wharves, 27 July 1964
(My first thought on looking at these prints for the first time in many years
was how did I get down to Eston Jetty - a more usual berth for ore carriers - in
those days before I had transport?!)
(5082106) Scottish Ore Carriers Ltd., Greenock, 7086gt, completed by C. Connell

(Must admit I presumed from her name she would be owned by one of the Ellerman

assume she had been built for Mossgiel but always on long-term charter to
Ellerman?)

CYPRIAN COAST, Tyne-Tees/Dent's Wharves, 27 December 1962
(Now, it may well be that I had safely anchored myself around a convenient crane
leg, but I doubt it!! I can tell you I would not now stand right on the edge of
a snow-covered wooden wharf to get such a photo!!!)

CYPRIAN COAST, Tyne-Tees/Dent's Wharves, 20 July 1964
Tyne-Tees S. Sg Co. Ltd., Newcastle, 494gt, completed by Hawthorn, Leslie &
