SMITH'S DOCKS TUGS

SMITH'S DOCKS NO. 3 (1980s)

SMITH'S DOCKS NO. 3 (alongside SMITH'S DOCKS NO. 1) at Smith's Docks on 24 January 1982.

Now what could those members of the Teesside Branch of the World Ship Society (on the left) have been looking at in those carefree days before highviz jackets and hard-hats became compulsory for such visits?!

Lying just outside Smith's Docks on 17 July 1985.

Something of a mystery vessel for which details are required.

Smith's Docks itself launched its last ship in October 1986 and closed in February 1987. The property was purchased by Tees and Hartlepool Port Authority and now operates as the Tees Offshore Base.
